Multiplying and Dividing fractions isn't as hard as you think. In this lecture, I'll show you how to multiply or divide fractions with mixed numbers (also called mixed fractions), unlike denominators, whole numbers, and even negative numbers.

This will help you to prepare for the HESI or ATI TEAS V exam. It will also help you if you're just learning to how multiply or divide fractions in school.

Keep in mind that you are not allowed to use a calculator on the ATI TEAS V or other nursing school entrance exams. Therefore, it's always a good idea to practice these problems.

Here are some tips for multiplying fractions: Remember the mnemonic MITS:
M=Mixed fractions (also called mixed numbers) must be converted to...
I=Improper fractions (what you must convert the mixed fractions to)
T=times (multiply) across the top and across the bottom.
S=Simplify the fraction to make it as small as possible.

When dividing fractions, remember the following: MIFTS
M=Mixed numbers must be converted to...
I=Improper fractions (what the mixed fraction must be converted to)
F=Flip the second fraction and change the sign to multiply
T=Times (multiply) across the top and across the bottom.
S=Simplify the fraction by reducing the size as much as possible.

Coronary artery disease (also called coronary heart disease) NCLEX lecture video on the nursing interventions, treatment, and medications for CAD. CAD is the build up of fatty plaques due to atherosclerosis that causes the arteries of the heart to become narrow. This leads to restrictive blood supply to the heart muscle which can lead to chest pain (stable or unstable angina) to myocardial infraction (MI). Nursing interventions for coronary heart disease include education about modifying lifestyle such as smoking cessation, diet (low fat and calorie), and exercise. Medication management plays another role in coronary artery disease management. As the nurse, it is important to provide education to patients about being compliant with medications, how to take them, and possible side effects. Medications for CAD include nitrates (Nitroglycerin), antiplatelets (Aspirin or Plavix), statins (Lipitor), beta blockers (Metoprolol), or ACE inhibitors (Lisinopril).
The main coronary arteries that supply the heart with blood include the left and right coronary artery. The left coronary artery branches off into the left circumflex artery and left anterior descending artery. The right coronary artery branches off into the right marginal artery and posterior descending artery. If ischemia has been present for a long time collateral circulation can develop as well. This is where tiny blood vessel re-route blood supply to the heart to pass the blockage. Signs and symptoms of heart disease include: chest pain (especially with activity and is relieved with rest which is known as stable angina), shortness of breath, feeling very tired. Coronary artery disease is diagnosed in various ways: lipid profile which measures the cholesterol levels, EKG, stress test, heart catheterization. Learn how to solve equations with one unknown variable, equations with variables on both sides, equations with parentheses, and equations with fractions--even if you're allergic to algebra!

This algebraic equations math review is designed to refresh your knowledge for entrance exams such as ATI TEAS V, HESI, ACT, or the SAT.

I'll show you how to solve equations with one unknown, such as this 2x + 5 = 10. I'll also show you how to solve equations with variables on both sides, such as 2 (x+5) = 7x + 3. In addition, I'll do some equations with fractions x/2 + 1/3 = x/4 + 2/3.

Solving equations with an unknown variable isn't as complicated as it first looks. There are a few principles you'll want to keep in mind when you solve these problems. First, you'll need to remove any parentheses. You can do this using the distributive property.

Next, you'll want to move the variable to one side of the equation and the numbers on the other side. That's our objective--it's to find out what the variable (usually "x") represents. We want our final answer to say something like x=5.

In order to isolate the variable to one side and the number to the other side, we can use a few "rules." One rule is the addition principle, which states that we can add or subtract a number from itself to remove it from one side of the equation, but we must do the same thing to the other side of the equation to keep it balanced.

Another principle is the multiplication principle, which is similar to the addition principle. The multiplication principle states that we can multiply or divide a variable by a number to isolate it on one side of the equation, but we must do the same to the other side.
